Stop Fighting Your Feelings: The 4 Stages of Alchemy of Resiliency
We’ve all been told to "think positive" or "calm down" when we feel anxious, frustrated, or afraid. But what if that’s the worst advice you could get? What if the relentless effort to suppress your emotions is the very thing keeping you stuck?
Most of us treat our feelings like enemies to be defeated. We numb them with distraction, we shame ourselves for having them, and we exhaust ourselves trying to hold them back. It’s like trying to hold a beach ball underwater—it takes immense energy, and eventually, it shoots up with violent force when we least expect it.
There is a better way. It’s a process I call Alchemy of Resiliency.
Alchemy is the ancient art of transformation. Alchemy Resiliency is the practice of treating your emotions not as states to be suppressed, but as raw energy and information to be transformed into your greatest assets: fuel, wisdom, and focused action.
It’s the difference between being a thermometer that simply reflects the temperature of your environment, and being a furnace that creates its own heat. Here is the four-stage process to become the alchemist of your own life.
Stage 1: Awareness - Separate the Energy from the Story
Before you can transform an emotion, you have to truly identify it. The first step is to intercept the feeling before your brain wraps a story around it.
Common Reaction: "I'm so anxious about this project. I'm going to fail." (This is story).
Alchemical Awareness: "I feel a buzzing vibration in my chest and a tightness in my throat." (This is clean data).
Your only job here is to notice the raw, physical sensation of the emotion. Where is it in your body? What does it feel like? This act of noticing separates the pure energy from the narrative and gives you a foothold of control.
Stage 2: Acceptance - Let the Wave Crest
This is the most uncomfortable—and most powerful—stage. You must willingly allow the physical sensation to be there without trying to fix it or push it away.
Common Reaction: "I hate this feeling. I need to get rid of it. Let me check my phone."
Alchemical Acceptance: "Okay, tightness in my throat. I feel you. You are allowed to be here for a moment."
By consciously allowing the feeling to exist, you signal to your nervous system that you are not in danger. You are the container, not the feeling itself. You are strong enough to hold it. Place a hand on your chest or stomach and breathe with the sensation, not against it.
Stage 3: Inquiry - Ask Better Questions
Once you stop fighting the energy, you can begin to extract its wisdom. An emotion is simply a message. It’s a call to action. Now, you can ask it what it needs.
Common Reaction: "Why is this always happening to me?" (Victim question).
Alchemical Inquiry: "What are you trying to bring to my attention?" (Data-driven question).
Ask the feeling:
What is your positive intention for me? (Fear’s intention is safety; anger’s is to protect a boundary).
What are you asking me to do or see? (Frustration often means your current strategy isn't working).
The answers will demand radical honesty, but they will give you a clear path forward.
Stage 4: Transmutation - Turn It Into Gold
This is the final, powerful act of alchemy. You don’t wait to feel good to act. You take the raw energy of the emotion and the wisdom from your inquiry, and you channel it.
Fear is no longer a stop sign; you transmute its buzzing energy into Focus and meticulous preparation.
Anger is no longer destructive; you transmute its hot energy into Clarity and the conviction to set a firm boundary.
Anxiety is no longer paralyzing; you transmute its scattered energy into Action, creating a plan for the one next step you can control.
This is the Mental & Physical framework ,I teach you to regulate the body so that we can finally listen to its wisdom. Stop fighting a battle you were never meant to win. Start transforming your lead into gold. If you are ready.....
